FAQs

I haven't traveled internationally before, where do I start!?

We are here to help! First things first, you will need a passport! See below link for passport application. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, so I recommend starting this process ASAP! In the US you can apply at a post office or at AAA. See more information here.

After your passport has been submitted, all you have to do is get excited and start booking your travel! Look through the Travel tab for flight and hotel recommendations and let us know if you need help - we are happy to help with your travel plans as much as possible. Note that most airlines will allow you to book a flight without a valid passport number (you may need to make up a number to get the ticket processed). Then, once you have your passport number you can make the change or enter it during check-in.

I do not speak Spanish, will I be able to get around Spain easily?

Yes - in Barcelona and most major cities there are English speakers so you can get around easily enough.

How many days should I plan on being in Barcelona?

We recommend that you arrive a few days before the wedding, no later than a day before. If you have never been to Barcelona, there are so many things to keep you occupied for a week or more! However, an ideal number to see all of its beautiful sights is three-four days (arrive Wednesday and leave on Sunday). After you have explored Barcelona, there is an infinite amount of options for you to explore in Spain and beyond. Feel free to reach out to either of us and we can help you brainstorm for an epic European adventure.

What is the weather typically in Barcelona in mid-October?

Barcelona is typically between 65F/18C and 75F/23C during the day and between 55F/13C and 65F/18C at night.

Will I need to rent a car?

It is easy to get a taxi (or an uber) from the airport/train stations to downtown Barcelona. Once you are there, it is a walkable city with plenty of public transport, and of course, Uber! However, if you want to explore, there are plenty of places you can rent a car, or take a train from the Barcelona Sants train station.

How should I plan on getting from Barcelona to the venue, La Baronia?

We have this taken care of for you! We will have a shuttle doing pick ups and drop offs to/from the H10 Urquinaona Plaza Hotel Barcelona in the Gothic Quarter. Most hotels are less than a 5 minute walk from each of the drop off locations, but if you are further, please take a taxi, FreeNow (taxi app in Barcelona) or an Uber.

However, if you want your own mode of transport, you can use Uber or a taxi to the venue - highly recommend that you schedule this ahead of time! Note that it will likely not be possible for you to get a taxi from the venue back to Barcelona as it is in the mountains. If you plan on driving, there is limited parking at the venue so we recommend using the shuttle. However, if this is an issue, please let us know.

Where/when do I RSVP?

We will have RSVP available on this website in June 2023. We will contact you to do so, but for right now, all you have to do is book your flights and your hotel! See the Travel tab for more details.
